Next Sunday Enskede Church is celebrating 100 years! For this occasion new music is composed by Kjell Perder. Yesterday I met with the choir (Enskede and Årsta chamber choirs) for a first run through of the new piece; I denna ljuva helgedom. It was a joy meeting with Kjell again! Last time I sang his music was in 2012, so I'm really looking forward to be a part of this first performance next week!

In the German Requiem by Brahms the solo soprano sings "And ye now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you." (John 16:22)
This afternoon in Oscarskyrkan I sang these words from the bottom of my heart.

Saxå Herrgård concert venue Saxå Herrgård concert venue
What a magic evening, yesterday night at Saxå Herrgård! The concert started at 22.00 and outside the windows the evening birds were singing during a beautiful sunset!
This was one of the last concerts of Saxå Kammarmusikfestival 2015, and to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the festival, three first performances were given during the night. I was a part of two of these! The composer Anders Hillborg had for the occasion rearranged two songs to fit the festival ensemble. I sung Kväll (lyrics by Eva Dahlgren) with Peter Eriksson playing the viola! I also performed O dessa ögon, but this time with string quintet (Andrej Power, Patrik Swedrup, Peter Eriksson, Johannes Rostamo and Valur Pàlsson)!
Earlier in the program I had the honor singing a couple of songs by Jean Sibelius with pianist Martin Sturfält. Both songs with Swedish lyrics by Johan L Runeberg.

I had some rehearsal time yesterday with wonderful pianist Martin Sturfält. Tonight we will do a couple of songs composed by Sibelius.
This afternoon I will meet the string quintet for rehearsal of the Anders Hillborg piece O dessa ögon. All songs will be performed during the late concert tonight at Saxå Herrgård!

There are a lot of connections going on with Anders Hillborg at the moment! The mixing and editing of the upcoming Hillborg album, where I am part of the recording of both Sirens and O dessa ögon. I'm also working on a new version of the song Kväll, with a first performane during Saxå Kammarmusikfestival in June. There is also a Hillborg cooperation coming up next year in Germany. Except for this, a documentary of Anders Hillborg is to be seen on Svt Play. In the end of this program I sing an extract of the beautiful song O dessa ögon.

Hannah - Even though I am fairly well versed in all sorts of classical music, I have never heard of you (or Anders Hillborg) before, I'm sorry, but heard you singing O dessa ögon this morning on BBC Radio 3 (with Sakari Oramo) and was absolutely transfixed. An amazing composition by Hillborg, but an even more amazing voice of yours, with - especially towards the end - those near-, below- and beyond- octave leaps sung with absolute security, sharpness and clarity, and with a wonderful interplay of absence and presence of vibrato. What a beautiful, transcendent sound! Thank you so much! :-) :-)
