Final concert at Konserthusteatern Karlskrona

Hannah Holgersson with Linda johansson, clarinet

A full seated Konserthusteater greeted us in Karlskrona today! I did, together with brilliant Marinens Musikkår (The Band of the Royal Swedish Navy) and wonderful conductor Staffan Larson the last of our New Year concerts.

I had a lot of fun on stage with clarinetist Linda Johansson in the duet (voice and clarinet and orchestra) Parto! Ma tu ben mio, from the opera La Clemenza di Tito by W A Mozart. Linda acted Vitellia, and I prepared as Sesto a way to do her will and revenge against Tito.
I also enjoyed singing the challenging and great songs from On this Island by Benjamin Britten, with lyrics by W H Auden.
As a part of the new year celebration sparkling walzes as Il Bacio by Luigi Arditi and Meine Lippen sie küssen so heiss by Franz Lehár were given.

With words that I sung today, from the beautiful Over the rainbow by Harold Arlen, I wish you all a happy and hopeful new year 2018!
"If happy little bluebirds fly above the rainbow, why, oh why, can't I?!"
